Preface

Mois da æae! Or as human folk would say, Hello! Welcome to The Tale of Araja! I thought it would be smart of me to give an intro to this story as well as an idea of how it came about.

This is a story about a woman named Araja Eloirakn (A-rye-a El-or-rine). The spelling is curious I'm sure (as you may note throughout her story) for I've developed (and still refining) a language for my world, Iadumija.

Now Araja came to be when a friend decided to run a Dungeons and Dragons (DnD) campaign. So I created into existence a fallen Angelic (Ang-el-is). I developed a thorough back story for her (that I hope to publish one day once I've worked out all the kinks) in which my intent was to give her a starting point in my friend's campaign and a reason for her vigilante mind set. Never was it a thought I'd be writing about her adventures as they unfolded. It so happened my friend took the liberty to incorporate her back story into his campaign. And so from the second chapter (the first session in game) I was enraptured by what Araja will do as she watches the corruption of her God continue to unfold and her own good intentions go horribly wrong.

This is very much a beta story. I call it that because this project is practice for my writing skills (which I know can vastly improve upon) and it is not the final product! Like I said, I never thought I would be writing this tale, and now I get to enjoy translating it back into my world of Iadumija. In the mean time, I hope her DnD adventures enrapture you like they've done for me.

Here's a quick sum up of what has transpired since Araja's return to the mortal realm:

From what Araja remembers she was cast out for 'rebelling' when a marked person (Malfeiya) entered the kingdom while decades before, her sister, Meryth, was denied due to being marked. To this she is now set on trying to take matters into her own hands as she sees fit among the innocent being preyed upon by those of power. But being away from the mortal realm for over two centuries, will it be as simple as she makes it out to be?

If the betrayal from her God wasn't enough, she quickly discovered the depths of His corruption. He was in alliance with Erythnul, the God she was destined to kill; Heironious's enemy.

5 months pass by with it's trials as Araja tries to figure out what to do about Heironious's involvement with Erythnul. She quickly discovered whatever good intentions she had wasn't coming across the way she thought they would. Amidst the chaos and confusion of her vendetta, things became clearer once she regained her former mentor, Raæin, and had her memories restored. It turns out she has been away from the mortal realm for well over 1400 years and she has a lot to learn with much maturing to do. An unexpected friend, Gemmel, who helped her during a time she was truly helpless, gave her a new perspective. Araja was actively seeking to defeat the evil so peace could be restored, but in the bigger picture, there will always be evil; there will always be struggle.

After settling down for a little over a month, Araja awakens to a familiar, yet undesired, situation. Once more she's lost in some forsaken land. At least this time she's not completely alone and destitute. It is in a new land, Athvala, that she makes new friends, falls in love, and endures the pains of bearing the mark she has dreaded for so long. And so, will Araja be able to find liberation from all the struggles she's endured or will her ex God continue to reign in His corruption?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this! I hope you find entertainment in this journey Araja is making.

Ejdun wo! Take care!
